Barry Traub - Host & Executive Producer |
Barry Traub is an attorney practicing in Rockland County, New
York. Throughout his entire life, sports have played a major role.
The passion of sports started in little league, continued as a soccer
player at Kakiat Junior High School and as a baseball player at
Spring Valley High School. Barry has studied with Dr. Lynn
Lashbrook, President of Sports Management Worldwide in his
Sports Agents class and has attended a Sports Career Workshop
at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. This spring, Barry
attended spring training as a reporter for a number of radio
stations.
For many years, Barry has had the opportunity to meet and
learn from sports executives. “I've been meeting key individuals in
the sports business community for the past few years with an eye
towards growing in the sports world either as an agent, advisor or
sports talk personality. As a result of those efforts, Barry started his
own sports talk radio show called, ”Speaking of Sports” and
continues that show on WRCR and WTBQ in New York.
"I've been lucky enough to be in attendance at game seven of
the 1994 Stanley Cup, game seven of the 1986 World Series and
many other great New York sporting events. Although my favorite
sport is baseball; football, hockey and basketball are sports that
have had a hold on me in indescribable terms. As a young child
growing up in New York, Joe Namath, Tom Seaver, Rod Gilbert and
Walt Frazier had a huge influence on my life.”

Mike Ferrara is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz and the newest addition to the Speaking of Sports Family. He majored in Media Management and served as the Sports Director for the school’s radio station, WFNP. While there, Mike produced and hosted a weekly sports-talk radio show with two of his best friends from school. He has held two separate internship positions with NBC Sports Communications, which included working with the network’s NFL and NHL coverage as well as the Beijing Olympics.
Mike has also worked at the NHL Headquarters in their communications department and has most recently done public relations work for SportsLink, a New Jersey-based sports marketing company that owns and produces the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as well as the McDonalds High School All-American Game.
The Yankees, Giants, Islanders and Knicks are what Mike lives for when it comes to sports. You will never hear him mince words when it comes to an opinion about one of his favorite teams or any other team for that matter.
Sports-talk radio has always been the focal point of Mike’s career aspirations. “There is never a ride in the car, or time in the office where sports-talk radio is not on in the background,” Mike said. “Conversing about sports with friends, family, or even complete strangers, is at times just as much fun as watching the sports themselves.”
